I'm in New Zealand as well and entered. I mean, it's not like it took much of my time to do it considering the limited amount of skills that you can really use effectively in PvP anyway.

Seems like a no for you, sorry.
To everyone: when you submit a build, also place it on pvxwiki or something, so other people can't use it and you're the only one with it .

sooooo, what is considered a commonwealth?
"Four states in the United States officially designate themselves as "commonwealths":
Kentucky is designated a Commonwealth by the Kentucky Constitution and is known as the "Commonwealth of Kentucky."
Massachusetts is a Commonwealth, declaring itself as such in its constitution, which states that "The body politic is formed by a voluntary association of individuals: it is a social compact, by which the whole people covenants with each citizen, and each citizen with the whole people, that all shall be governed by certain laws for the common good."
Pennsylvania uses the "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania" as its official title.
Virginia has been known as the "Commonwealth of Virginia"[5] since before joining the United States.[1]
U.S. insular areas
"Commonwealth" is also used in the U.S. to describe the political relationship between the United States and the overseas unincorporated territories:
Commonwealth of the Philippines — formed in 1934, and became independent in 1946.
Puerto Rico — became a commonwealth[6] in 1952.
Northern Mariana Islands — became a commonwealth in 1978."

This is not necessarily true.
Remember that you need to have the skills on your bar to submit them. I can guarantee you that most if not all people with multiple accounts do not have them UAX with three chapters plus expansion.
You'll want the variety that each chapter brings to have a good shot at making the best builds for any profession.
Tomes won't work either, because you need to unlock the items anyways. If you want to invest in a skill pack just for this contest, well, that's your own prerogative.

I think you meant get the answer wrong?
From the wiki link Martin posted:
"Anecdotally, getting the answer wrong is also often not an obstacle to claiming a prize".

Guess they can answer it wrong and still win...

When this update gets released. I give it 3 weeks before everyone in HA and GvG cry about it. Bad mistake.

I give it 5 minutes after it goes live.
If someone could complain about GW2 not looking "pretty enough" right after the trailer, they can complain about henchmen

No commonwealths means the second kind of commonwealth, not the first.
Anyway, will people please stop complaining or going "WHAT!?!" about the legal requirements? It's not A.net's fault if the laws in your country prohibit this.
Anyway, kinda cool contest with the rewards and all, so I'm sure I'll enter. At the same time... I don't see how getting rid of heroes from PvP but just replacing them with henchmen really helps. So you can still PvP with AI, just not AI that's TOO effieicent/customized to be used with your build. Seems like a middle ground that won't please anybody.

Where do people get the impression that the hero/henchman limit in HA and GvG will be be removed?
It will probably still be 2 for HA and 4 for GvG.
So it is just replacing flexible hero bars with fixed henchman skill bars that will be obsolete after a few major skill updates.

Blegh that content update every 3-4 months things seemed too good to be true when they promised it. Now it seems like we will be lucky to get one every 6mos if at all =\
That said, good to see the henchmen skill bar idea, but without them changing with the times they will be useless quickly if not completely from the word go. Not being able to customize the skillbar of your AI basically eliminates alot of people's ability to run degenerate builds... oh wait that is a positive, but it does keep some people from being able to gvg/ha because of lack of players effectively

I'm amazed that people aren't seeing what they are doing. You can submit a build based on current Meta, but if the Meta changes the build may not do any good. This means they want builds not based on Meta, but on GENERAL effectiveness. They are henchmen, so no skill micro, and no individual flags. They will be far less useful than a hero even with an identical build to a hero. Make the builds very general to fit into large variety of teams, and you will have a better chance at winning (in my opinion).

Which is why henchmen would still be useless in pvp. If their skill bar is too good people would bitch about it again, so their skill bars have to be bad enough that people dont bitch. If they are bad, then they are useless.
I dont see the point of using henchmen after getting rid of heroes. It is just busy work, creating something that nobody would use, unless he is a noob in the first place. If I cant get enough human players to form a full team, I would rather not GvG than to have my ass handed back to me, guaranteed, because of the lousy henchmen.
Good luck getting named after something that is going to be bad and useless.

I gotta say, I'm all for this.
Heroes in PvP only work well in limited situations, and work too well in a handful. Some are cheap, but as a whole, they don't provide much of a challenge. It's the same thing over if something works very well.
Tease, Tainted Flesh, Power Drain and others are used more effectively by Heroes than by Humans, so I'm strongly leaning towards the belief that bars with skill like these in them won't be picked. 20 prizes hints that there will be 1 hench of each profession for both GvG and HA. I'd imagine it would be something like this:
GvG
Warrior - Cripslash
Ranger - Burning Arrow / Interrupt
Elementalist - Ice Snare
Necromancer - Single-target Curse Hexes
Mesmer - Domination Resmer
Monk - WoH Monk
Assassin - Palm Striker
Ritualist - Weapon of Warding Resto Rit
Dervish - Featherfoot Wounding Scythe
Paragon - Incoming / hold your ground
HA
Warrior - Axe / Bull's Strike / BoA
Ranger - Incendiary Arrows / Apply Poison / Interrupt
Elementalist - Searing Flames
Necromancer - AoE Hexes
Mesmer - Illusion
Monk - Life Shealth + Divine Boon + Channeling
Assassin - Black Mantis Thrust, Fox Fangs, Death Blossom
Ritualist - Splinter Weapon/Ancestor's Rage/Offering of Spirit
Dervish - Sandshard / Heart of Fury / Wounding strike
Paragon - Burning Refrain / The power is yours / They're on fire
I'm also hoping that they refresh the builds more than just this one time, perhaps every 3 months. Skill updates do happen.
